Should I be concerned if my job has a one-year…

Should I be concerned if my job has a one-year probationary period?

I recently finished graduate school and landed my first professional job with a state government. After getting the verbal offer and seeing the written offer letter, it mentioned there being a one-year probationary period explaining I can be fired at any moment, with or without cause.

I'm relocating rather far from home for this job. It didn't even start yet and I'm worried about me suddenly getting fired while thousands of miles from home. I've talked with friends and they've never heard a probationary period being so long before.

I obviously plan on doing the best I can while routinely checking in with managers about my progress/room for improvement. I fear I'm overthinking the worst-case scenario and will have anxiety over making any mistake.

I was wondering if anyone has experience with a probationary period this long?
