⚽ UEFA has filed U.S. discovery requests while preparing a possible Swiss criminal complaint against FIFA president Gianni Infantino over the withdrawn FIFA Forward Enterprise proposal.
The plan would have created a FIFA commercial subsidiary and raised up to $4.2 billion by selling a 20% minority interest. FIFA said it would still control football governance and competition decisions.
UEFA alleges the implied $20 billion valuation was too low and that the proposal was mishandled. The allegations have not been decided by a court. ⚖️
FIFA dropped the plan on 1 August after backlash and later acknowledged process errors while maintaining it acted within its rules. UEFA says it has shelved a proposed boycott after assurances that no version of FFE will be tabled, but says that position remains under review.
