I've gone on two dates with this guy and each time has honestly been great. We have deep conversations about relationships, values, how we show up for people, future goals, etc. The chemistry in person feels really strong and comfortable, and we’ve talked in a way that feels somewhat future-oriented.
For context, I actually ghosted him months ago because I was going through a really difficult time personally. I reached back out later and he was still interested in seeing me. Before our first date, texting was pretty consistent. Not constant, and there were hours in between but a few texts a day.
After the first date though, I noticed a pattern where he’ll only text once a day, and if I reply, I may not hear back again until the next day. He has told me he’s “not much of a texter” and he also has a pretty demanding schedule.
The confusing part is the way he texted before when we hadn't seen eachother vs. now. Also confusing since he does plan the date, he'll text me the day of date and be consistent then. In person he seems very interested and emotionally engaged. Our second date lasted hours, we kissed, talked about hanging out again, etc. He texted me later that night saying he was home and had a great time. But then the next day he didn't text me at all yet I see he saw my story on instagram. Its been a full day and today and so far no text. There was also one time he canceled plans because he wasn’t feeling well, but later mentioned he briefly met up with friends that same day, which admittedly added to my confusion.
I’m trying not to overanalyze because I know everyone communicates differently, but I also can’t tell if this is:
* a normal texting style difference and I’m overthinking, * someone who likes me but is just low communication, * or someone who enjoys my company but isn’t actually that invested.
I am very sexually open and would like to become intimate with him, but I don’t want to ignore signs that someone may not be emotionally consistent enough for me.
Would you personally see this as a yellow flag or pretty normal early dating behavior? #relationships source
