CHRISTMAS
a. What the day means to you:
Christmas often represents a time of joy, togetherness, and reflection. It can be about celebrating traditions, connecting with family and friends, and spreading kindness. Christmas is the commemoration of the birth of Jesus for us Catholics.
But of course we should not only have kindness and love each other at Christmas, we should always choose to be a good people and love each other for a peaceful community.
b. How you prepare for and celebrate it:
We decorated our homes like Christmas tree, balls, lights, ornaments, tinsel and other decorations for Christmas. So if Ber months comes we are already decorating. Many places have giant Christmas trees and lights. We do shopping for gifts and planning meals. As we celebrate our family share meals and exchanging gifts.
c. Any special traditions or customs:
We go for midnight Mass or attending Church services, for 9 nights. Some kids do caroling. They sing Christmas songs, either door-to-door or at gatherings. Others kids hang up socks so that when Christmas comes, there will be candies and gifts placed there. Schools and workplaces also have Christmas parties. Sometimes on Christmas day we go for a walk at the mall or on the theme park. Kids love Christmas day because they go to their godparents for gifts and money to give to them. They say that Christmas is for children.
d. What special foods or dishes are part of the celebrations:
At Christmas, we prepare 13 round fruits on the table. We prepare for the table delicious desserts like mango graham, buko salad and leche flan, spaghetti, sometimes with cake and meals like barbeque and other dishes.
