[END] Goodfellas (1990) - #RetroReview
Scorsese took the story of the great Lufthansa robbery captured in Nicholas Pileggi's book and gave us this great film, combining in its story a combination of intelligent sociological study, great black humor and innovative cinema, Goodfellas achieves something that only movies truly great things can achieve: becoming a film that is not only a work of art in itself but is also an excellent black comedy that manages to entertain the general public at the same time. Because of this achievement, and also because of its great influence on future filmmakers, Goodfellas is considered a cinematic gem, a cult film, and after The Godfather I and II it is in 3rd place in my personal top of films about gangsters and in my top 10 of the best movies that I have enjoyed throughout all my years.
