If you are career orientated, it's best to be with someone who isnt

Complementing each other is sometimes better than being similar.

If you yourself are someone who is career-focused, its best to have a partner who values life and family more than work.

If both are focused on careers, this will inevitabily cause resentment at some point because you have to compromise. Someone has to be the one who sets his or her career back by being with the child, esp. at the beginning. Even in marriages where both really try hard to do everything 50:50, it ends up with one side doing more than the other.

In a complementary partnership, one side can focus on the career, reach maximum potential profesionally, while the other benefits from someone who lets him or her take care of the child only, enjoying life, but therefore maybe putting a bit more work into the household.

At the same time, the other side can still work, its just that his or her career isnt that important to the person.

We as society should embrace such a model, this is a peak luxury a lot of people cant afford nowadays. At the same time, we should make clear that both the man and the woman can be the side in the partnership that doesnt focus on his or her career.
