What I wish would happen: I totally get how far-fetched…

What I wish would happen:

I totally get how far-fetched and wishful fanboy thinking this is, but..... just imagine if RIZIN swallowed up the top 5 ranked fighters from each division of all these promotions (PFL, ONE Championship, Oktagon MMA, Cage Warriors, ACA, KSW) to create a super-promotion based in Japan. Basically a massive merger feeding into RIZIN as the hub, reviving the glory days of Pride FC.

The current direction of the UFC really sucks right now. UFC has always been a greedy monopoly but at least there used to be a time where they gave af the product and delivered up until 2021.

**Now we're left with**:

* *Horrible match making.*
* *Dying heavyweight division*
* *Shitty ChatGPT generated posters with no themes/personality*
* *Still doing boring Apex cards post pandemic*
* *Zero hype for big fights, boring press conferences, and fight announcements with Dana dumb bald pink face instead of building massive anticipation/drama/storytelling.*
* *Dana is LITERALLY promoting boxing now and completely non-invested in the UFC*

The product has become overly corporate, clean and too predictable.

**Now picture Super Rizin:**

* **Better, more exciting fighting rules:** Pride-style elements like soccer kicks, stomps, and knees to a grounded opponent allowed. Fights would be way more violent and finish-heavy, less stalling on the ground or point-fighting. No more endless control time without damage. Dagestani figthers or hardcore wrestlers would finally be forced to evolve beyond just leg hugging.
* **More personality and spectacle Grand**, dramatic entrances with epic music, dramatic lighting, and that theatrical Pride vibe. Insane artistic posters for every card, New Year's Eve mega-events in Tokyo Dome/Saitama Super Arena with roaring Japanese crowds.
* **Tournaments and grand prix**. Regular seasonal tournaments or multi-fight brackets like old Pride/RIZIN did, creating instant rivalries and upsets. Dream matchups everywhere without UFC-style protectionism.
* **MMA gloves with curvature** that keep fingers naturally bent to dramatically reduce accidental eye pokes. Safer for fighters, fewer stoppages for pokes, more fluid action.
* **Freakshow/mismatch fights for fun and spectacle** — Pride loved throwing in wild stylistic clashes or size differences (e.g., Minowaman vs. giants, or technique vs. power bouts). A super-merged roster could revive these as special attractions without diluting main cards, pure chaos and viral moments that UFC rarely risks anymore.

With a roster stacked from all those top talents, you'd have elite depth in every division, constant high-stakes cards, and a promotion that feels fun and fan first again. It wouldn't fully dethrone the UFC overnight as UFC has insane leverage with global broadcast deals, massive revenue, deeper overall prospect pipeline, and that unbreakable brand as "the" MMA league.

But damn, it could become the exciting #2 (or co-#1 in spectacle) that MMA desperately needs, giving fans an alternative full of hype, violence, and personality instead of the current corporate slop direction UFC is headed.
