The only things that are real in this world are our feelings. And, of course, our relationships—our interactions with one another—but those are based on feelings, after all.
I don't know if there are other species on other planets, or if those beings understand the concept of a feeling. After all, a feeling is a biochemical reaction.
If they are not familiar with this concept, they might be surprised when they meet humans. Emotions aren't logical, nor are they always predictable.
Every now and then, I experience a really extreme interpretation of emotions:
Something happens that affects me deeply on an emotional level. For whatever reason, I feel it far too intensely—so intensely that my emotions shut down completely.
Then I consciously feel absolutely nothing at all—and that can go on for quite a while, sometimes for days on end. This is how I'll keep going.
But then—at some point I can’t predict—the feelings come back, and they hit me like a hurricane, a tornado, and a tsunami all at once—they completely sweep me off my feet, and I’m left—literally!—breathless.
I can't breathe anymore, I feel dizzy, sometimes I feel nauseous, and my legs give out from under me.
All I can do then is weather the storm—just survive—until it has passed.
Then my feelings will return to normal.
That´s weird!
Do you know this?
