Plaion Replay NEOGEO AES+ - A hardware/ASIC based reproduction of the NEOGEO AES
They promise it's not emulation or FPGA, instead promising "powered by its legacy ASIC chips, re-engineered by modern standards to accurately replicate the original machine's hardware and software"
This is apparently officially licensed by SNK, so either they're hardening the Furrtek MiSTer FPGA core or they are producing brand new chips in a new node (Since I doubt the original 2.7 micron process for the 68k is still up and running)
Interestingly they're also producing new game cartridges and promise total backwards compatibility with the legacy console for the games and accessories too.
It's the first time I've seen this approach and I wonder what has stopped other consoles besides the Famicom/NES from being cloned and being produced this way.
