The recent post about a gnarly miter saw wound reminds me that being educated on emergency wound treatment in a shop is extremely important. I'm volunteering in a woodworking shop, where I'm in charge of the hand tools. I kindly ask new volunteers to read this book. I can't really enforce it, but knowledge is there. It's published by Lost Art Press and, like everything by Lost Art Press, it's really good. I won't put a link because I'm not trying to promote this book in particular, but please learn how to address the different problems that can arise around tools (and there's much more than cuts!). Shit happens, you will have to deal with it at one point until medics can take over.
