I think the people in this picture are trying to protect their castle from a giant snail. They may believe the snail has magical powers or could bring danger to their town. That is why one person is holding a sword, another is using a long stick, and a woman is raising a tool to help. Even though the snail looks slow, everyone is working together because they want to keep their home and the people inside the castle safe. It looks like a strange but brave adventure from a long time ago.
