Where do we go from here?!
We’re on Day 6 of potty training our 3 year old boy.
Day 1, he started 3 wees on the floor and finished them all in the potty. Day 2 he did two whole wees on the potty, but was panicking about releasing.
On Day 3 he held it for 5/6 hours and only went when he couldn’t hold it any longer, with a lot of fuss and tears about releasing. And that’s how it’s been ever since.
He now won’t go in a nappy. He wants to go on the potty but is so stressed about releasing. Even poos he wants to do on the potty but panics and does it in the middle of the night.
We’ve tried all the tricks to help him release like bubbles, warm water, counting, reading books, watching a favourite program. We’ve backed off, we’ve done frequent sitting. He’s happy to sit on the potty when he’s not desperate.
Where do we proceed from here? We feel stuck!
