Yet another tent size question
Looking at getting a new tent, and I've been pretty set on a X mid 2. I'm 6'5" and, after reading lots of reviews and posts here, it seems like this tent punches above its weight as far as (sleeping) size goes compared to a lot of other 2 mans. I think it would be just fine to take my daughter with me (she is still small) and still have room.
My wife has never been an outdoorsy person and never camps or backpacks with me, but lately she has been hiking a local trail a couple of times a month when she has an extra couple of hours and the weather is nice, and she has expressed interest in camping with me sometime. The first couple of times I can get her to go I plan on doing family car camping with my big 6 man tent and doing day hikes so that I can bring some luxury items and cook whatever big meal we want.
I wouldnt plan on 3 person hiking with my daughter in the next few years, but i may plan my tent purchase around the possibility that my wife catches the bug. Would it bite me in the ass if I pivoted to a 3 man copper spur and she never got into it? Would I hate having it for solo trips?
