Isonomy owner was a prolific gambler, after the 2 year old season he knew he had a champion on his hands, rather than going for the standard route of running 3 crowns as a 3 year old he opted to stick the horse to training and keep him unraced for a while and off the memory of people.
Near the end of the season he raced him again (Cambridgeshire Handicap, he would also carry less weight for the handicap) and by this time as expected people had forgotten his performance as a 2 year old, the horse had very low winning odds in favour of horses who performed in the season so far.
All according to keikaku.
Owner, Fredrick Gretton placed a large bet on his horse with 40/1 odds at winning, and this paid off. Isonomy won this race landing the owner more than double the prize money for winning the triple crown.
