Inviting an inexperienced friend for a multi-day hike
Hi everyone! I really enjoy hiking and would love to do it more often, but I do not always have friends to go with. I'm trying to get more of my friends into trekking but i also feel responsible for them.
I’m wondering if any of you have ever invited a friend with little or no hiking experience to join you on a trek.
Did their lack of experience ever make you hesitate to ask?
What were your main concerns and struggles? Could be lack of equipment, worry about their safety, etc.
How did you help them prepare before the hike?
And if you have gone hiking with an inexperienced friend, did anything unexpected happen along the way?
