SN2026aaiv - Manual Dob 10 second exposure
I was mesmerized observing this visually for about 30 minutes tonight with my 10 inch manual dob. The supernova is unmistakable right next to the fuzzy core of NGC 7331. This view is quite similar to the visual experience with the exception of the streaked stars due to my lack of a tracking mount. Took this shot with an iPhone held up to my 12.5 Morpheus eyepiece. I realize this shot is no prize winner but given the equipment used I’m pretty happy to have captured it at all! What a treat to have perfectly clear skies to watch this transient event peak in brightness with my eyeballs.
No post processing, straight from camera roll.
