Van Halen - Hot For Teacher
Just an appreciation post. I’ve heard the song a million times, but just heard it a bit differently this afternoon. Needed to get out of the house. Turned it on the remastered version, rolled the windows down and cruised around town.
From the start, the intro has what could be one the coolest drum parts and the recording itself is just a chef’s kiss of production value. Maybe the best I’ve heard a drum kit sound in a long time. The story, lyrics, musical journey, vocals harmonies, melodies, arrangement, timeless shredding and just all around balls out rock and roll energy is just a masterclass in writing, performing and recording.
