Is €4,000 enough for ~90 days in Southeast Asia?
I’m planning a \~90-day backpacking trip from late September to late December:
Sri Lanka-Thailand-Laos-Vietnam -Cambodia -Malaysia
My international flights are already paid, so the €4,000 would be only for accommodation, food, local transport and activities.
I plan to eat mostly local food, stay in cheap private rooms/hostels (\~€15–25/night), travel mostly overland and keep the itinerary flexible.
I also want to do some more expensive activities, especially an Open Water diving certification in Koh Tao, surfing, Muay Thai camp and wildlife activities.
Is €4,000 realistic without having to constantly worry about money? What would you budget?
