If anyone ever says "They don't make them like they used to!", tell them they're good reasons for that.
I'm stripping my 100+ year old farm house down to the boards and putting up a layer of plywood sheathing, housewrap, and vinyl siding. The boards they used are impressive - one of them is a full 22" wide!
But for the love of my heating bill, why the fuck are there giant holes everywhere?! This 3" gap under a second floor window is the most egregious example, but there are notches and gaps all over the place.
