I hate my sister in law

And so does my husband.

I don't want to put in too much detail, because I don't want to ID myself, here, but she's a drug addict, has been for her entire adult life, has 2 children with the same abusive kleptomaniac who she keeps saying she's leaving but always wins up back with him, she abused my husband (2 years younger than her) when they were kids...

She recently appeared at our home with no warning, the first time at 10pm, saying that she's lost her phone and so she somehow doesn't know hubby's phone # despite the fact that it hasn't changed, ever. Whatever. It was a pita but whatever. She eventually left, hubby and I jokingly considered moving.

The second time, she came while I was making dinner and my 6 year old was playing outside. (We're away far away from the road, have plenty of room for her to ride her bike on our property, she knows to stay where she can hear when we call... I thought she knew stranger danger.) Long story short (hahaha, sorry. I'm ranting) she didn't have a ride home, strong armed hubby into taking her home (largely to get her off our property) , and asked for multiple large favors on the way. He told her she's not welcome in our lives. That God. Hopefully she listens.

Now to why I'm actually posting this here where maybe someone will understand my mixed feelings about this encounter.

I'm so disappointed in my parenting. My 6 1/2 yo take with a woman she hasn't seen since she was just barely 2 for God knows how long (crazy lady did my kid's hair) and didn't think to come get me or hubby. I feel like a failure every time I think about it. We've had multiple talks about stranger danger since, and she answers the questions right, now... But I'm still nervous.

And also just so frickin angry with SiL for coming anywhere near my kids.
