First time hiking in the snow. Any tips for someone from a tropical country?
I’m from Brazil and I have experience hiking in tropical weather + european summer, but I am planning to go to Innsbruck in December and do some easy hikes, nothing too complicated, since I will be traveling solo and I have never hiked in low temperatures before.
I usually hike in approach shoes, but I don’t think they’re appropriate for snow. I have no idea what kind of shoes to choose. Any recommendations?
(I can find La Sportiva, North Face and Columbia here in Brazil. I would appreciate any recommendations from well known brands, because I believe they are easier to find)
