The three successful plants I have gotten this year...
Well, I live in the desert of Southern California two hours east of San Diego. It is over 100 degrees F every day in the summer. We just moved here two years ago. So far, I have two nice lemon trees. Everything else like lantana, kumquat trees (2), and California lilac have failed. I haven't planted my knockout roses in the ground yet, but I am not sure how they will do once out in the sun. I plan on placing them in the ground this October. It is difficult out here...lol.
I thought I'd share three plants that actually are doing great out here, finally, that I planted this year: my vincas, African blue basil, and standard bougainvillea tree (I have two). It's been a battle, but I am slowly discovering flowering plants that will work in the brutal summers of Imperial Valley. Yay 😊 #activity source
