Kids running circles around me
I have two secondary school children (11 and 13) and I am really having trouble getting the kids to do what I have asked. Which I guess is normal. Unless I am standing by them watching everything, the task never gets done or kinda done.
So today's scenario is getting the school uniform ready for tomorrow with the PE kit. I have asked them multiple times then when they say they have done it nothing has been done. Basically getting the clothes out of the wardrobe and hanging it up ready. Not big jobs but gives them some responsibility.
I checked before bed and nothing. Same with brushing their teeth. So some may think it's controversial but I'm like 'fine' and let them deal with the consequences, not brushing teeth, not going to school in the correct uniform because they cannot be bothered when I tell them. Maybe they should sample the consequences.
Obviously anything that puts them in danger is totally different but I'm just tired of all this battling.
Any advice would be grateful.
