Looking for feedback on this crazy national park road trip
Me and a friend are planning this road trip from Salem, OR to Redding, Lassen, Great Basin, Canyonlands, Arches, Great Sand Dunes, Colorado Springs, then back to Salem. We know its a lot of driving and most parks will just be quick stops for stamps, photos, and maybe a short hike if time allows.
Very rough plan:
Day 1: Salem to Redding and stay there overnight (starting in the afternoon because of work)
Day 2: Redding to Lassen National Park, then drive toward Great Basin and stay somewhere along the way
Day 3: Great Basin, Canyonlands, Arches, Great Sand Dunes, then arrive in Colorado Springs late at night
Day 4: Spend time in Colorado Springs with friends, then start driving back toward Salem in the evening
Day 5: Finish the drive back to Salem
Has anyone done a similar route before? Any feedback or anything we should know about the roads, gas stops, restaurants, or places that might be sketchy to drive late at night? Also wondering if there is any part of this route that just doesn't make sense or should be changed. #travel #activities
