The Threat of a Border Wall in Big Bend Won’t Go Away. Former NPS Leaders Are Raising the Alarm.

I love hiking in Big Bend NP so much and am disturbed that the DHS Secretary waived 29 environmental and historical rules to fast track a border wall there. Only 0.45% of all illegal crossings happen along the 500+ mile "Big Bend sector" of the US-Mexico border...and many of those folks are either caught or, unfortunately, end up dying from exposure in the harsh desert. Sharing this piece (which I wrote).
