Batik is one of Indonesia's cultural heritages that has been recognized by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity on October 2, 20091. Since then, October 2 has been designated as National Batik Day by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono through Presidential Decree Number 33 of 20092. National Batik Day is a form of appreciation and pride of the Indonesian people towards batik as a symbol of culture and national identity.
