The King's Speech tells the true story of King George VI, who unexpectedly becomes king after his brother Edward VIII abdicates the throne. Known as Bertie, he struggles with a severe stammer that makes public speaking especially addressing the nation extremely stressful. To overcome this, Bertie reluctantly enlists the help of an unorthodox speech therapist, Lionel Logue, who uses unconventional methods to build his confidence and improve his speech. Over time, a strong bond forms between them, blending professional guidance with personal friendship. The story crescendos as Bertie must deliver a critical wartime radio broadcast to rally his nation at the onset of World War II. Despite his fears, he rises to the occasion, proving his ability to lead and inspire.
