I’m taking a drawing/art class this coming school year and I usually avoid drawing as much as I can because I can paint over it instead as it is easier to “sculpt” my work with paint.
I had to do a drawing summer assignment and I asked beforehand and my teacher said that as long as I have evidence of having drawn something I could paint it. Needless to say, I pulled a random picture from a game and I started on canvas and got carried away drawing. I just worked with sketch pencils like it was charcoal on the canvas and it was great!
Now I don’t really like the sketchbooks she provided because I can’t “sculpt” like I would with charcoal using the graphite and my blending stump does nothing.
Is there an affordable option to replace canvases because I don’t want to be spending so much on them? Much less is this something that people do?
I have oil and acrylic paper that has some tooth but it doesn’t work as well as I’d hope. #art source
