Hello we just moved to a totally new area and we have an astronomical amount of deer. Our yard is pretty large and backs up to a wooded area. We also live in a HOA so we are kind of limited on what type of fencing we can put up- essentially no privacy fences. I am starting my garden from ground zero and have never lived in an area where deer are prevalent so I’m learning the majority of things I like to grow are things deer like to eat.
I think I have a good idea of what I’m going to do for a vegetable garden but I’m not sure what I’m going to do about fruit bearing trees and front flower beds. I would love to plant hydrangeas and a fig tree but I also don’t want it mowed down by deer.
Should I just sacrifice those dreams or are there economical and practical solutions to keep them deterred? #activity source
