Finally enjoying and slowly falling in love with coding.
Last year in October I quit my job as a practicing lawyer to switch my career to programming.
When I first started I was really excited to learn and could not wait to write my first line of code. I joined a Bootcamp and started learning DSA using Java as my first language. It was amazing in the beginning and I actually regretted to not start much earlier.
However, things started falling apart very quickly. As soon as the advanced topics where introduced, all the concepts and logic started to go right above my head. I thought it will become easier but it did not after many months of trying. I started having self doubts and thought I made a mistake starting off in the first place.
Guess what? I did not give up and kept at. Now, after 10 months I can finally say that I am falling in love with coding and I do not have self doubt anymore. I love the feeling I get when I am able to solve a DSA problem without help, or when I am able to fix a bug in my projects. It just takes time and effort.
TL;DR -
Coding is hard, and it takes time to grasp the concepts and logic running behind each and every code. There are only two things you need to learn a new skill, consistency and discipline. Keep at it and you will started understanding it eventually.
