Would you bother with something like this?
There is a large pile of Australian hardwood sleepers (rough dimensions 2400x200x100 each) that have been dumped in a vacant lot. Half of them have rotted through, but there is some good sections in there.
I don’t have a lot of storage space, so I would have to be extremely selective in what I take. If I had a property, I’d take the lot and sort through it properly.
On top of the condition of the wood as a whole, there are nails spread through, and I (currently) have no way of knowing if the paint is lead based.
It’s difficult to get decent old Australian hardwood where I am.
