Should I skip the cruise and just travel direct?
currently my wife and I have a deposit down on an 11 day British isles cruise for July 2027. current cost of the trip is just over $6000 which does not include flights, visas, or tourist stuff. we hit 9 ports, highlights for us are scotland, ireland, and bruges. Amsterdam and Paris i can take or leave honestly along with the random England ports.
would we be better off doing this trip without the cruise? same time of year?
are scotland and ireland doable in 5 days time each? bruges, I imagine can be done in just a day and flights appear to be cheap going between all of them.
we want to keep our budget around the same as the cruise or less if possible. which is around $6k to 7k.
this is my first major trip outside the US and for some reason travel abroad stresses me out more.
