My grandmother, a theatre actress in Buenos Aires, taken around 1920-1930
I recently visited a relative who owns a restaurant in a small town in Uruguay, where family photos are displayed throughout the place, as seen in the background. He had inherited many other family photographs and artifacts but I immediately recognized this one as a portrait of my grandmother. My father often spoke about her love of theatre and I believe this particular image is a professionally taken glamour portrait from her years as an actress. She lived her life in Buenos Aires, Argentina until her 90s.
