Tiger Leaping Gorge in Lijiang is one of Chinaβs most breathtaking canyons, where the Jinsha River (or Yangtze river) roars fiercely between towering cliffs. Legend says a tiger once leaped across the narrowest point to escape a hunter β giving the gorge its name. Visitors now can take thousands of steps down, (but now with an escalator make life much easier) to witness the thunderous rush of water crashing against massive rocks. The sound, the spray, and the sheer power of nature make it a heart-stirring sight β both humbling and unforgettable.
