The Bhopal disaster was a chemical accident happened at the Union Carbide India Limited pesticide plant in Bhopal, India . At least 3,787 people were killed and over 500,000 injured after being exposed to the highly toxic gas methyl isocyanate.
An initial investigation showed that a large volume of water had been introduced into the MIC tank and caused a chemical reaction that forced the pressure release valve to open and allowed the gas to leak. #history
