An unceremonious end for USS Tang
The USS Tang was the most successful American submarine of the Second World War. During its fifth and final patrol it fired its final torpedo at a Japanese ship only for it to malfunction and circle back, sinking the USS Tang. Very few of the crew survived, the ones that did were picked up by a Japanese ship that had been rescuing survivors from the convoy that the USS Tang had been attacking and were promptly assaulted.
