Difference between jokes and genuine disrespect?
I have this friend who likes to insult everybody “as a joke”, and says he’s a “certified hater” I’m usually fine with that as long as long as he doesn’t take it too far, let’s call him friend 1. Today, we were just joking with each other while slightly insulting each other, but then friend 2 joins and starts actually talking shit about me (making fun of my stuttering, and about my absent dad, etc) and I just left the call because I was getting pissed. But then friend 1 says “someone’s angry” and keeps on talking crazy about me, and I called him out for essentially ganging up on a dude. He then said something like “if I was fighting someone on the streets, and another dude jumps in and starts fighting that guy, do I beat him up for being on my team?” I responded by saying his argument is flawed, because in a street fight scenario it’s life and death, and banter between friends is not. Now I think he’s butthurt and is sarcastically being nice. He also says anyone who doesn’t put up with his “joking” people who can’t take a joke.
