Need advice for my Austria itinerary!
Hey everyone! I’m visiting Vienna from the US in July and I’m super excited about it. I have a degree in history and I’ve always wanted to visit Central Europe and check out all the historical sites. I land in Vienna the morning of July 7th and leave on July 15th and so far this is what I’m considering:
\\\* July 7-8 check in at the hotel, wander around Vienna, see various museums
\\\* July 9-11 take the train to Budapest, wander around Budapest for a couple of days, see the sights
\\\* July 11 take train back to Vienna/Eisenstadt for Rise Against concert (another huge reason why I’m making the trip. Already have a ticket for the concert)
Now, here’s where I need help. I want to make at least one other day trip, and I’m trying to decide between Bratislava and Brno for the day, so any recommendations would be helpful. Also, any particularly helpful suggestions for places a historian would want to see in any of the places I mentioned would be greatly appreciated. In Vienna I’m staying at a hotel in the Inner City. Haven’t figured out where I’m staying in Budapest yet. (I only just decided to make it a multi day trip instead of a day trip, after seeing multiple people say you should take several days to see Budapest.)
So if anyone has any recommendations for fun/cool hotels in Budapest, I’d appreciate those too. I’ve saved up a lot of money for this trip, so I’m not particularly worried about costs (within reason. 500+ a night is probably a little more than I’m willing to spend. Lol)
