Happy New Year and I’m Done. If I was to make a New Year’s Resolution it would have to be not buy a watch in 2023 at all, if not beyond. The last 2-3 years have been a blast collecting — even not particularly hunting certain ones but just getting lucky finding some hard-to-find timepieces, and naturally making the impulse purchase not knowing if I would find the timepiece ever again in the near future. So I think this is it for me. The latest acquisitions are the Breitling and the Tudor Chrono Panda. The Breitling has a better story. I purchased it at 35,000 feet cruising altitude, and I even got a signed certificate by the Captain to prove it. While flying back from Zurich after celebrating Christmas this year in Estonia and Finland, and while perusing the in-flight catalog of Duty-Free goods, there it was, a page about the Breitling Navitimer B01 Swiss Air Limited Edition. It was just announced in November 2022, limited to 700 pieces and could only be purchased while in flight in select long haul flights. I happened to be in one from Zurich to Chicago, which is home. Talk about a crazy impulse buy. Well, it’s been fun. I appreciate all the love an support here in this awesome community. I wish everyone a wonderful 2023! Take care. Cheers!

Expensive watches are strange; the more unnecessarily complicated they are the more expensive they are. Its a glorification of Rube Goldberg devices.
