Are atoms with muons instead of electrons theoretically possible?
So I am currently studying particle physics, and apparently muons and tauons are pretty similar to electrons, except for their much bigger mass. And i wondered if it was theoretically possible for muons to bind to nuclei just the way electrons do. The nucleus would probably have to be extremely massive for the muons to orbit around them, is there such a limit for protons and neutrons where they cannot form bigger nuclei?
