🥊 Katie Taylor retired as undisputed super-lightweight champion after beating France’s Flora Pili by unanimous decision at Croke Park in Dublin on 5 September.
The Irish boxer won 100–90, 100–90 and 98–91 on the scorecards, adding the vacant WBC belt to her WBA, WBO and IBF titles. The victory gave Taylor a third undisputed championship run and left her professional record at 26–1.
Taylor’s farewell drew about 80,000 people to Croke Park, where top-level boxing had not been staged since Muhammad Ali defeated Al “Blue” Lewis in 1972. 🏟️
Before turning professional in 2016, Taylor won Olympic lightweight gold at London 2012, when women’s boxing made its Games debut. Her final fight brought her career from that Olympic breakthrough to a title unification in front of a home crowd.
Taylor marked her retirement by placing her gloves in the ring after the fight. Her professional career is now complete.
