Hey! I am going on a family trip to the Dolomites, and I only have two days to go off on my own and do a larger, challenging hike. I want to do part of the AV2 trail in those two days, but I am doing this last minute-so I would have to go down into the valley to stay the night rather than staying in a rifugio.
I was thinking of condensing the first two days of the trek into one day. Day 1 would be about 18 miles, from Bressanone to Val Gardena (hiking down the valley to Selva and staying in a hotel). Day 2 would be about 7.5 miles, taking the gondola back up in the morning and hiking from Val Gardena to Passo Sella.
I’m 22 and an experienced hike. I’m from the northeast U.S. and have only ever experienced this kind of terrain on summit night when I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. I did not find that summit hike to be challenging at all and had 0 issues with the altitude. I have excellent cardio health/endurance and most importantly a lot of psychological stamina for pushing through challenging hikes. For those who have done this trek before, do you think this plan would be doable? #hiking #activity source
