Has anyone installed infrared heating film under floors or…

Has anyone installed infrared heating film under floors or in ceilings as a DIY project?

I’m interested in hearing from people who have installed or worked with infrared heating film in a DIY renovation, extension, garden room, home office or retrofit project.

I’ve seen systems that can be installed either under the floor finish or within the ceiling, giving radiant heat without radiators, wet pipework or wall-mounted heaters. It seems useful where space is limited, or where you want a clean finish without losing wall space.

A few things I’d like to understand from people with real experience:

\* Did you install it under the floor or in the ceiling?
\* How difficult was the installation?
\* What type of room was it used in?
\* If underfloor, what floor finish did you use — laminate, LVT, engineered wood, tiles or something else?
\* If ceiling, how was it installed above/behind the plasterboard?
\* Did you use insulation boards, reflective insulation or another backing layer?
\* How did you handle the electrical connection — DIY prep with an electrician for final connection?
\* Any issues with floor temperature, ceiling build-up, expansion, access or warranties?
\* How quickly does the room warm up?
\* Is it good enough as the main heating source, or better as comfort/background heating?
\* Would you install it again?

I’m especially interested in feedback from people who have used it in garden rooms, extensions, loft conversions, small apartments or retrofit projects.

Any lessons learned or mistakes to avoid?
