Democracy:
Democracy (from Ancient Greek: δημοκρατία, romanized: dēmokratía, dēmos 'people' and kratos 'rule')[1] is a form of government in which the people have the authority to deliberate and decide legislation ("direct democracy") or to choose governing officials to do so ("representative democracy"). Who is considered part of "the people" and how authority is shared among or delegated by the people has changed over time and at different rates in different countries. Features of democracy often times include freedom of assembly, association, property rights, freedom of religion and speech, citizenship, consent of the governed, voting rights, freedom from unwarranted governmental deprivation of the right to life and liberty, and minority rights.
The term appeared in the 5th century BC in Greek city-states, notably Classical Athens, to mean "rule of the people", in contrast to aristocracy (ἀριστοκρατία, aristokratía), meaning "rule of an elite".[7] Western democracy, as distinct from that which existed in antiquity, is generally considered to have originated in city-states such as those in Classical Athens and the Roman Republic, where various schemes and degrees of enfranchisement of the free male population were observed before the form disappeared in the West at the beginning of late antiquity. In virtually all democratic governments throughout ancient and modern history, democratic citizenship was initially restricted to an elite class, which was later extended to all adult citizens. In most modern democracies, this was achieved through the suffrage movements of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Home to the World’s Second-largest Salt Mines
Rising from the Indo-Gangetic Plain is the Potohar plateau, where you’ll find the world’s second-largest salt mine, the Khewra Salt Mine. And, of course, this epic natural wonder sits in the Punjab Region of Pakistan.

The Khewra mines produce 325,000 tons of salt annually and contain over 24 miles (40km) of tunnels. It’s so big that the mine has a mosque and miniature salt statues of famous landmarks such as the Great Wall of China and the Badshahi Mosque.

The world-famous pink Himalayan salt is also mined in Pakistan near the foothills of the Himalayas.

Pakistan Has the World’s Second-Largest Muslim Population
The country is officially known as the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for a reason. And that’s because it contains the second largest population of Muslims all over the globe, after its fellow Southeast Asian country, Indonesia.

The fact that Pakistan currently has a population of nearly 243 million people adds to this statistic. Not only that, but about 97% of Pakistanis are Muslims.

German reunification or German unification (in legal language, establishment of the unity of Germany) was the process of 1989 and 1990 initiated by the peaceful revolution in the GDR, which led to the accession of the German Democratic Republic to the Federal Republic of Germany on October 3, 1990. The resulting German unity, which has been celebrated every October 3 since then as a national holiday called German Unity Day, ended the four-decade state of German division that had existed as a result of World War II during the Cold War era.
