Anyone else feel like life got dull after achieving your goals?
I think getting everything you once wanted can actually make life feel… kind of dull.
I still remember when I was just starting out on my own, barely owning anything. Back then, everything felt exciting. Buying my first smartphone felt like a huge milestone. Slowly putting together a desk setup made me proud in a way that’s hard to describe. Even getting my first car wasn’t just about the car, it felt like freedom, progress, like I was building something for myself.
Now I have all of that. And weirdly, the excitement is just… gone.
I recently upgraded my phone, and it didn’t feel like anything. No anticipation, no satisfaction, just another regular day. It made me realize that I don’t really have a “what’s next” anymore. I’ve basically checked off everything that used to be on my bucket list.
It’s not that I’m unhappy. I’m comfortable. But maybe that’s the problem, comfort feels a lot like stagnation sometimes.
I kind of miss that earlier version of life, where small things felt big. Where there was always something to look forward to. Where progress felt tangible and exciting.
Now I’m just wondering how people deal with this stage. How do you bring back that sense of excitement when you’ve already reached the things you once worked so hard for? #inspiration source
