@eriksson @danny and I have been spending time thinking…

and I have been spending time thinking through the possibility of us bundling up all our brands in the Millix ecosystem and giving users the chance to buy shares in the companies, eventually leading to institutions buying shares. More on that later; the point is, doing something like that means we need to establish a market cap, key metrics we use to establish that value and a roadmap that we think increases the value. Its humbling, and I could list more of our failures than our wins. However, progress rarely comes without pain and we're working to figure it out. Here's the pain points we're focused on:

πŸ‘Ž Not enough new users
πŸ‘Ž Poor user retention
πŸ‘Ž Poor revenue
πŸ‘Ž Poor MLX liquidity

and I both agree that we are open minded about counter-intuitive solutions because our rational decisions haven't worked like we expected. πŸ€” Making things worse might make things better? Whether we get to a public offering or not, it's turning into a fantastic exercise to figure out how to push through to the next level.

Hey dude. I did talk with about the issues I had withprpducing content here back in March. I said that the platform needs people making content to bring other people in but currently the support for the content creation doesn't seem to be there because it's geared around only doing giveaways. If you look at platforms like Spotify and even DLive (through Tron network) they paid massive sums to bring on famous content producers as exclusives to bring more users over to their platform. I feel tangled needs to support content production more and make it worth it to actually invest in the site. I told Danny back in March I had the templates to produce about 2000 shorts videos which would be comparable to what's on tiktok or YouTube shorts but I was told that there was no interest in or funds for supporting the production of content like this.

You dont even need to pay established creators, just pay the one we have. Videos are way more effort and time consuming than livestreams, with editing a 10 min video, that can take up to an hour cutting out dead airtime. yet they're low value here now... It wasn't like that when we joined. Yeah there was no live streams then but like i said you can bang out a livestream in an hour and be done with it and less effort than video. Also i dont like giveaways, they pissed me off. Knowing the users only on the stream for thge millix and not my content... And thats not a fan you've made, thats a leach you gained.

Yeah that's an issue too...when you stop giveaways then retention stops. I mean...I feel like it would be easier to just reward viewers for watching certain types of content even. If someone watches a video through then reward them, if they share it to other platforms reward them and reward the creator seperately.

You asked why there aren't enough new users. The answer is already visible in the market.
Making trading fee-free for accounts holding 1 billion MLX was a good step, and I appreciate that. But one good change alone isn't enough.
The biggest problem is liquidity. The gap between the buy and sell prices is simply too large. When your bots are inactive for months, the market becomes almost unusable. At the current prices, it's very difficult to sell quickly, and buying is just as frustrating.
Any experienced trader who looks at this market will immediately notice these problems and decide not to invest. Before attracting new users, you need to take care of the traders who are already here. Many of us have been raising these concerns for a long time, but it feels like our feedback is ignored.
For example, when I place a sell order, someone places another order below mine, then another below that. As a result, selling MLX becomes extremely slow. The buy side has the same issue if I place a buy order, the price keeps moving lower, making it difficult to get a fair trade.
I'm sure you already see these issues because you're monitoring the market. That's why it's difficult to understand why nothing meaningful has changed. If the current traders are struggling to trade, how can you realistically expect new users to join and stay?
Improving liquidity, reducing the buy/sell spread, and creating a healthier market should come before talking about attracting new users or increasing the company's value.

It’s interesting to see you all tackling these hard questions, , and . My take is that we’re currently suffering from 'monetization fatigue.' Like Facebook, the focus has shifted so heavily toward earning than the actual social fabricβ€”the discussions, the photography, and the personal storiesβ€”is being pushed to the background. New users aren't seeing our community; they’re seeing a marketplace.
Even though I’ve been away for a couple of months, I’ve noticed the shift whenever I check in. I miss the days when I could open my feed and see personal postsβ€”celebrations, wins, losses, or just simple ramblingsβ€”without them being overshadowed by reward-farming. As a creator and photographer, I feel like the platform’s 'creative soul' is at stake. When I hosted my MindBodySoul activities (Tangled Steps, Mind Sparks, and Soul Snippets), I always aimed for them to build community, not just flood the feed. It’s a delicate balance, and right now, the scale has tipped too far toward the 'grind.'
I think we need a structural change to fix this: perhaps dedicated sections for tasks versus social interaction. Since Tangled is a non-algorithmic space, we have a unique opportunity to protect the human experience. Let's not let the 'earn' side bury the genuine connection that makes this place special. Is there any plan to introduce specialized feeds or UI changes to protect the social experience?

I read that as endorsing the philospohy that worse may be better?

I think I’m just looking at it from a different angle! You’re thinking about the structural 'worse' that might lead to a breakthrough, and I’m just thinking about the 'daily' user experience. I don't need to be an expert on the vision to know that when the feed is flooded, it feels less like a home and more like a task board. I guess my hope is that whatever 'worse' or 'better' changes come, the platform still keeps that space for the human moments that made me fall in love with it in the first place.

πŸ‘Ž Not enough new users
πŸ‘Ž Poor user retention
Thats just two sides of the same coin. People will stay when more people are here. Onboarding new people may need some aggressive publicity stunt(s) and focus on the main distinguishing values of tangled social. Why only tangled social? Because it seems to me the core cell of the millix ecosystem/webverse. What ware the main distinguishing values? No algorithms, no censorship and anyone will earn. These points are especially interesting in western hemisphere political & socioeconomic webscapes.

πŸ‘Ž Poor revenue
πŸ‘Ž Poor MLX liquidity
Tha big one. For crypto investors a solid roadmap and distribution plan, especially with such a large amount of currency, is key. Shares could help for initial monetary relief but can become a hinderance in the later process as it may slow down progress.

Agree new users and retention go hand in hand. The frustration is doing a 10x on the monthly active user will take forever at our current rate, so we need to get more people at the top of the funnel without spending $500k in advertising (which is what it would cost at our current conversion and retention rates). Once we get the onboarding live missions done and make the mobile experience better we'll test advertising.

This might be dumb, but speaking as someone who needs to be better about community engagement, I will say that I wish spending my Millix were more engaging. There's a psychological aspect for me for something like this: loss aversion. This is powerful when there's the potential that the 50,000 MLX I just tipped could triple in value at some point. I am wired to perceive that as a loss of sorts. Is it ethically virtuous for the community? No. Am I being a selfish jerk? Probably. But what if we were able to create randomized rewards, like "crates" that have collectible value with full disclosure of the rarity of the "items" available, like a collectors guide? When I'm tipping, liking, commenting, I could be randomly rewarded with a crate to open and there's a psychological excitement that creates. I'm both spending my Millix on content I want support and also earning some sort of prestige and excitement for myself. I hope this doesn't come off as super self-serving because I love you guys and I want to see you succeed. Rock on 🀘🏻

I guess you and Orto cancel each other out! There is a Payback Chance running in the background that randomly pays you back up to 5x what you just spent engaging and commenting. No on tips though smart guy!

I think you're already moving in the right direction. The transparency, continuous development, and communication with the community are all strong points. One suggestion would be to invest even more in empowering committed community members who have the skills and motivation to help the project grow. This includes content creators, educators, developers, translators, community moderators, ambassadors, and other active contributors who can introduce new users, create educational content, organize community initiatives, and spread awareness about the platform. Giving these contributors more recognition, opportunities, and support could significantly accelerate user growth and strengthen the entire ecosystem. A strong and empowered community can become one of Millix's greatest competitive advantages.

I see you talking about the missions dashboard. I am very interested in the specific details about that. Like the predictions market, there has to be a way for the community to pool our resources together towards funding these "rewards, bonus, etc" and also earn something back for locking our millix up for months at a time.

should probably be one of a biggest focus's - directly pay for advertisements! There are dozens of social media platforms and we should weed out which one's we will pay to post on.

This should circle all the way back around to the affiliate program which for some reason we cannot get a solid update on that after all these years. We should be able to audit or even payout our own affiliates. If it seems to one way then give both sides benefits!

I would gladly tip out more of my own people if I see them actively reacting, commenting, and posting on tangled!

I feel like the promotions tab is also extremely undervalued! you have your 404 rating still coming soon? I use to watch the stats page but it's never really been right after the middle to end of last year. Another extremely undervalued tab.

I am definitely looking into buying into all of this. Trying to figure my own thing out too lol would be nice to keep building with you guys towards something painfully beautiful and amazing!

There's a fine line between attracting users who are here ONLY to make a quick buck AND attracting users who simply enjoy being here and earn money on the side.
I think the actual content has gotten lost amid the flood of Earn activities. Of course, the Earn activities are greatβ€”and there should definitely be someβ€”but there are too many of them, too often. That’s ALL anyone cares about anymore.

A social network should also be about contentβ€”discussions, news, amazing things, funny stuff, and whatever else users choose to share about themselves. It's been pushed into the background hereβ€”it's THEREβ€”but new users probably won't notice it right away.

I don't know how to fix this. Maybe there should be specific "sections" that people can go to... sections with activities, sections with conversations, sections with funny content...etc, so that everyone can find what they're looking for. And anyone who wants to see everything mixed together can have it displayed that way.

I understand your point mam , but I think there's another side of this. Life is difficult for many people today, and I don't know if its the same everywhere, but that's why
many users are looking for platforms where they can earn.

I don't think earning has replaced genuine social interaction.

In my own experience, i post about life, music, nature, hobbies, motivational quotes and even funny contents - BUT ALMOST NOBODY REACTS. However, if I offer a TIP for comments, suddenly people participate. That's simply the reality I have observed on Tangled.

Social Media serves different audiences. Some platforms attract people who just want entertainment, while others attract people who are hoping to earn a little extra. There's nothing wrong with either. The challenge is finding a balance between meaningful content and earning opportunities. I actually enjoy both.

My Facebook and Tiktok accounts are earning, but I still choose to stay on Tangled because I genuinely enjoy here, not just the earning aspect.

Good day everyone

Yes, i'm earning through Facebook monetization. My long form videos and reels are monetized with ads, so I earn a share of the ad revenue. I also earn from the stars that viewer's send to support my content. Payment thru Paypal then from paypal ($) then
i transferred it to Gcash (β‚±).

That is why i am not surprise Tangled Users invited to join from Facebook didn't stay long here...because they will earn $ thru paypal or their chosen bank and withdrawn in peso, quite easy than crypto too many process... 🀣 I am earning here honestly just selling my millix to co-tanglers only, whoever wants to buy. Nobody is buying now so i am planning to give it away by tipping to those who commented my posts🀣

Millix doesn't inspire confidence. Replace Millix with Bitcoin. Even if you halved all the rewards distributed, the number of users would still increase. Or, efficient ways to easily convert Millix to Bitcoin should be provided.

Please forgive me for saying this... but after reading your comment, one thing comes to mind: Someone here hasn't understood how the system works.
badge
$0 earned3mo ago
BUT :
Maybe thatΒ΄s a problem:
Many users don't understand the overall concept. It's complex. Those who've been here from the start get it. But those who joined later don't have a clear picture. I think the upcoming dashboard could fix that.

"Tangled" is also kind of for people with Asperger's or IT experts/enthusiasts... that's probably why I love it so much πŸ˜˜πŸ˜πŸ€£πŸ€ͺ

However, in my efforts to recruit others, I've spoken with users who aren't tech-savvyβ€”and they're having a hard time.... They're wondering what this is all about and what they're supposed to doβ€”which is a big deal here. And because everything is so complex and there’s no FAQ anywhere where you can find everything in one placeβ€”they leave. Because that’s just how it is these days, unfortunately: If you can’t get the big picture quickly, goodbye.

The ENTIRE Tangled universe is AWESOMEβ€”I see that, and so do many others. But the average user, who's just browsing by, doesn't see how awesome it is.

It seems that there is no system. Because someone changes the rules as he wanted to. This is not a decenteralized system. I hope that you are right.

user retention & revenue: Tips were higher, if they was like the first year it would also hold attention for longer
badge

One thing we are getting ready to launch to address retention is a dashboard for all users, but new users in particular, that contains a large collection of live missions that the user accomplishes to earn and learn about Tangled. Some missions pay, some unlock other missions, some have rewards. All of them help people become more successful users.

Yeah dashboard sounds good. Also stops new users asking for millix, subs or help. But maybe it would be good to do a weekly click-mine, like a happy hour? Yeah we took the piss a bit but if it has clear rules it could work.
