Longevity of Deep Space Probes
Just read a random (probably AI) post about Pioneer 10 and it got me wondering, how long can deep space probes actually exist? I don't mean mission capable or communicating, but actually existing.
Assuming they don't run into anything, would the materials they're made of decay over time? There is no oxidation or melting going on. Again assuming a near mystical ability to avoid micrometeors and other stellar bodies, can the materials they're made of exist (excluding universal atomic expansion) forever?
