Do studies on dark energy make the Big Crunch more…

Do studies on dark energy make the Big Crunch more plausible?

Recent studies showed how the dark energy that is causing the universe to expand is decreasing, or at least was stronger a few billion years ago. This *might* indicate that this energy is decreasing. The Big Crunch theory stated how the universe might end when this expansion will become weaker and eventually gravitational forces and this expansion will enter a state of physical equilibrium for a small period of time, with gravity becoming stronger overtime and pulling everything back together like a reverse Big Bang. So do these new discoveries make this theory more supported because this energy *may* run out?

Btw I am a grade 10 student so please correct me if I’m wrong, ‘cause I am physics enthusiast.
