If someone prayed to themself and not to god from religion, would that make them theist or atheist?
I was reading LOTM and there mc sometimes prayed to himself. Its kinda spoiler so i will skip it. Then i had question. If someone without faith for religion or god prayed to himself as if he is god for plecebo effect, would that make him an atheist or theist?
As far as i know plecebo effect works because body learns to associate the ritual with effect of relief. So does this make him theist for beliving himself as god or atheist for understanding causality of his actions?
