Today is National Homemaker's Day. Celebrating it brings back love and comfort. So these 3 questions help me remember it more.
1. What's one small ritual that makes your space feel calm and comforting? Listening to oldies but goodies songs, reminds me of my parents. Their love in singing while listening to their fave song, makes me feel at home even when I am not totally at home.
2. What scent, sound or sight instantly reminds you of "home"? The sweet scent of sampaguita, or jasmine, revives memories of our family's church gatherings. Furthermore, the fragrance of incense or scented candles triggers recollections of the sampaguitas we purchased and displayed on our home altar. Subsequently, we would convene to delight in "SUMAN", a traditional breakfast dish of glutinous rice wrapped in coconut or banana leaves. π₯°π₯°π₯°. Yummy.
3. What's one corner or spot in your home that makes you happiest - and why? Our receiving area or sala is a versatile space. We regularly assemble here for various purposes, including receiving guests and utilizing it as a combined kitchen and bedroom. I vividly recall positioning a bed in the sala, allowing all of us to sleep together. We would converse until we fell asleep.
